Evening gown fever is about to begin, with last night’s Critics’ Choice Awards marking the start of the red carpet frenzy (Golden Globes due on Jan 14th!).

Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt were of course the star couple of the evening. Angelina chose for a so-low-key-it’s-hot pale grey Max Azria gown with one sleeve. Very simple ponytail; the overall look was really clean and elegant.

Rival Anne Hathaway – and winner of two awards on the night – had a very bold black and white Gianfranco Ferre dress with gorgeous jeweled buckle in the centre. (Apparently Angelina was “stewing” in her facial expressions whilst Anne Hathaway was giving both her acceptance speeches.)

Though Angelina didn’t seem that upset when she had the still-moustached Brad Pitt next to her on the red carpet. He really looks like he just stepped out of a Midwest film. Frankly, I am not for the ‘stache’ trend, and I really hope other guys don’t follow.
