Ed Westwick for K-Swiss
Gossip Girl star Ed Westwick (a.k.a. Chuck Bass) will be appearing in K-Swiss’s 2009 campaigns for their iconic white sneakers. Mixing sport, fashion and aristocratic glamour, the recently released ‘sneak peaks’ of the photoshoot by Zach Gold shows Westwick as… well… a rather more laid-back looking Chuck Bass.
Even his sultry stare remains (thank goodness!), and in some shots he is even making ‘kissy faces’ at the K-Swiss shoes. Yet these days publicity is merely publicity. Will this really result in a positive spike in sales for K-Swiss? (I am totally blogging with Gossip Girl’s voice in my head right now, I couldn’t help even mimic her cheeky questioning at the end of every act!)
The ads will debut officially in February 2009 and appear in March issues of magazines, as well as all over Times Square and Sunset Blvd.
The Gossip Girls lads are certainly transforming into fashion icons in their own right (and I wonder when Armani will book ‘Nate’ for an underwear campaign).
