With success tends to come responsibility as a ‘role model’ or at least some form of example of a certain kind of lifestyle – or attitudes towards setting certain standards in one’s life.

For London-born fashion designer Wayne Cooper, the reality is more than a little sore – though many would be quick to say that he has deserved it.

After the news had broken out that Cooper assaulted his now-divorced wife, some angry Australians have started petitioning for Cooper to be boycotted as they believe that he “should not profit from women” after his behaviour.

The petition, titled Help Women Stand Up, reads: “He has been served with a second AVO … yet he continues to design for and profit from women. Is this just? Why do we as a sex support this?”

Cooper retaliated with, “It has always been my focus to provide for my children and I need my business to do that. I don’t think this (petition) acts in their best interests.”
