This year’s Art Photo Expo in Miami has dedicated a whole section to fashion photography titled, ‘In Fashion Photo.’

Exhibition direction Francoi Trabelsi noted that although some more serious art enthusiasts considered fashion photography a little too “paillette,” he believes that as a contemporary art, fashion photography is possibly one of the most successful as it reaches the masses, which in itself is fashion photography’s greatest strength.

Yet just like fashion trends, the art worlds has its trends as well, and it may be that this surge of interest in fashion photography as art is a passing trend as well. Trabelsi noted that the London art market was highly focused on nineteenth-century photography in previous years, however fashion is the new “lifestyle concept” which is generating more interest.

What’s not to like, right? Fashion photography is glamorous, attractive and beautiful to hang up on a wall. The expo will be both educational and aesthetically delightful as it shows how both art and fashion have inspired each other throughout the years.
