Gucci’s Gutsy Pre-Fall 2009

Gucci’s got a great pre-fall collection coming up, in my opinion. Plenty of attitude with just enough cuteness for women to pull off. Apparently the inspiration was “British eccentricity,” which is rather obvious with the plaids.
What I love about this look is that the colors pop out and are not typically feminine, yet really seem to suit a modern, powerful woman. Though sometimes, as with all fashion collections, the pieces would look better separated than actually worn as they have been displayed in their promotional arrangments. For example the outfit of plaid pants and jacket both together – it’s a bit clownish. Though separately I think those pieces are great and would look great mixed and match with other plainer items or just something of a different pattern.
Not sure how I feel about the styling of knee-high boots with that plaid dress either. I love the dress, it’s hot. It’s sexy and cute and “Don’t mess with me” all at the same time. Yet the knee-high boots… a little too 90s for me. I think the look would’ve looked hotter with some Jimmy Choo pumps.
