Monique Lhuillier Spring 2009 at New York Fashion Week
Browsing through the New York Spring collections, I have to say, Monique Lhuillier really stood out for me. I think it was because of the warm yellows, oranges and even porcelain-like blue patterns on some of the dresses.
Feathered prints and wispy layers all created a sense of romance and femininity, which was so refreshing amongst the serious blacks, greys, leather and washed out denim throughout the rest of New York Fashion Week.
Filipino fashion designer Monique Lhuillier started out as a bridal designer, creating gowns for the likes of Britney Spears in her wedding to Kevin Federline, as well as for Christine Baumgartner when she married Kevin Costner.

Not sure I like the use of a brown background in the first three photos but the dress with yellow and white is exceptionally pretty. Best if worn by the young girl just edging her way into sophistication. Gorgeous wedding gown with train. Very romantic.

The wedding shot of Costner and his bride is beautiful. I love the woods in the background and the old pickup truck!
