More Stills from Coco Avant Chanel

It’s getting really interesting now as more stills from the filming of Coco Avant Chanel are released. As posted earlier, the film stars Audrey Tautou and is mostly set around the beginnings of Coco Chanel’s rise to success.

The movie is said to show how Chanel stood out from the ladies of her own time, even before she started her own shop. The stills were published in this month’s Elle France, and the movie will be out in France in May 2009, and later for other countries.

I am starting to wonder if the fashion world is milking the ‘Chanel legacy’ too much – if we’ll see a sudden boredom from the topic; I forgot what the term is, for when something is so hot and rising, and then suddenly, in about two seconds it will become ‘absolutely not’.

There’s already a second Coco Chanel film in the works now, Chanel et Stravinsky: l’Histoire Secrète, as well as a TV series, Coco Chanel, starring Shirley MacLaine.

Will Coco Chanel become for Fashion what Mickey Mouse is for Disney?
