New Fashion Mag ‘Love’ by Katie Grand
Is that Agyness Deyn on the cover dressed up as Queen Elizabeth II, you might ask? Well, the answer is, yes, of course. And on the cover photo on the right, is Iris Strubegger, a German model rising in recognition in the fashion world.
LOVE is a new magazine said to be the creation of current editor of POP magazine, Katie Grand. Grand once admitted to the Guardian that POP magazine took up so much effort yet reaped very little financial rewards; therefor the launch of a whole new glossy, LOVE may be the answer to her financial woes?
It’s hard to predict the success of these ventures, though. As it could be too easy to say “It’ll never work, nobody has any money right now to spend on magazines,” and the irony may be that it’ll be as huge a success as Lindsay Lohan’s leggings.
Though I don’t like seeing Agyness Deyn this way, I do understand the visual irony. Iggy Pop is said to be on one of the upcoming covers as well, yet the image is so aesthetically displeasing I have decided not to post it on this blog!
