Obviously everyone has their own opinions formed by now about their favorites of the dresses from the Golden Globes on Sunday night. MY favorite was this Reem Acra gown in a lovely, refreshing light lavender color worn by Olivia Wilde, from House MD.

It’s both nostalgic and modern in its color and form. This kind of feminine purple hasn’t been seen on the red carpet for a very long time. And compared to the sea of rather more intense and brooding colors of black, bright red, or even gold or darker hues, this lavender simply provides a moment of, “Ahh, my eyes feel relaxed.”

The flowy, feathery combination, with Wilde’s sleek brunette locks and intensely dramatic eye makeup, all do their part in truly flattering the woman in the dress, rather than taking over. She looks so amazingly empowered by this dress, I’d be shocked if Reem Acra’s phone line hasn’t been ringing off the hook since her appearance in this dress!
