The hype is undeniable, Barbie’s going to be celebrating her 50th year in true fashionista style, by having her own fashion show at New York Fashion Week on Saturday, and featuring many outstanding designers’ pieces.
Currently there are a few drawings being leaked of what some of the outfits will look like (plus the one finished dress by Carmen Marc Valvo below), and I think one of the great things about Barbie is that she really seems to inspire color in clothing. Nothing sombre or muted with Barbie style, it’s all about being a happy, fun-loving and stylish girl.
Even the black dress by Carmen Marc Valvo has so much fun and flirtatiousness about it with the layers and frills.
“She’s an American icon, and there has to be an interesting association between play and Barbie, and creativity and fashion,” said Valvo.
The pink shoes featured are the exclusive Barbie hot pink Christian Louboutins.
