Ugg: The Boot That’s Not Going Away
The snowy season is creeping up on us and many people – celebrities included – are feeling the icy chills on their toes. Solution? Go the Ugg Boots from Down Under, Australia. Originally made for Australian shearing men, the boots somehow catapulted themselves into the spotlight when they were introduced into the UK market in 2003.
Aside from the usual snaps of female celebrities in ugg boots, however, there appears to be a resurgence of male role models embracing the boots again. (“Thank heavens!” the team at Ugg must’ve thought.) Check out Bruce Willis looking like a real Aussie shearer. Ronnie Wood sets a rock example; and Nick Curtis from the Evening Standard brings a bit of white collar to the appeal. (White-collar after hours, that is.)
Much uproar has occurred, however, with upturned noses to the idea of embracing the ugg boot into fashion yet again (let alone, for men). I checked out the cute alternatives to past seasons’ baby-colours. As for the men, well… what do you think?
