Vivienne Westwood’s Gold Label in London
Vivienne Westwood’s Gold Label collection “Chaos Point” was unveiled to Londoners earlier this week. Apparently the inspiration for this season was the global ecological crisis.
A live orchestra played classical music and even ballet performances were on show.
The collection’s evolvement began when Westwood wrote a little narrative called “Active Resistance Against Propaganda.” It was about some former soldiers in a jungle, stumbling upon the miracle of life, and thereafter crusading for freedom and showing that “every person can change the world.”
Westwood – a former schoolteacher – read the story to schoolchildren and asked them to paint their visions of that story. Those images have since been incorporated in the Gold Label Designs.
(Can you tell?)
“My amazing greatest concern, more than anything that affects me in my life today, is the problem that we have to save the planet. So this is about the rain forest, and I went to the rain forest anyway. One day I would like to take some of these children, but we have to save it. If we don’t we won’t save the planet and it would be mass disaster,” said Westwood.
